From an early age, I've expressed a passion in building, this passion has since turned in to the art form of stonemasonry.
Starting out as an apprentice in the renowned Wells Cathedral Stonemasons, Somerset, UK, I was immersed in to some of the most revered and historical stone masonry in the world. This love for history has continued to this day, with much of my contract work being upon historical buildings.
During my apprenticeship I went from strength to strength and was selected to be a part of the regional, and then national Stonemasonry competitions in the U.K. I placed top 3 in both events, which lead to training at the highest standards achievable, as part of squad UK in preparation for the World skills international trade competition.
Since moving to Canada, I have had the honour of working on many of its prestigious heritage buildings, including; Parliament hill, Ottawa, The Government conference center (formerly The old Ottawa train station) and the Saskatchewan legislature, Regina, with more currently in progress.
The carvings started as a side project but are fast becoming the most popular comissions. This suits me well as I get to deal with the clients on an individual basis, it's lovely to see that they share the same enthusiasm for my work as I do!
